You Won’t Find These in the IKEA Catalog

You know you’re a ‘car-guy’ when you take parts that are lying around in your garage and turn them into furniture to display in your home.    Something tells me the skilled craftsmen who built these items aren’t married.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Engine Block Coffee Table

Crankshaft Lamp

Wheel Coffee Table (it’s a 14″ wide Lamborghini wheel!!!)

Recaro Office Chair

Ottoman (actually ‘automan’)

Chess Set

Gear Bookends

Transmission Sink

End Table – Miscellaneous VW Parts

Citroen Couch

Socket Coffee Table

Van Tool Box (great for a workshop)

Absolutely lovely, I'd like to get a V8 table sitting in my living room, I'm just worried about the weight :)

  • bob

the wheel clock is available everywhere for about $15 FYI.

I definitely want to have the Engine Block Coffee Table and the Crankshaft Lamp. Those are pretty cool ideas for auto parts eh. Good work.

  • reality

meh – the crank shaft as a vertical post is oooooolllllllllllllllllldddddddddddddd. almost as old as the dozer track for a mail box….

yeah, I love the engine coffee table and the bus pool table. how can I get one? haha

Only a mechanic who can think out of the box can think and make things like these. They are great.

  • Crazy Forrest

These are really cool uses of old car parts. Perfect if you and your family/living mates are gear-heads, but I can't think many women would want an engine block in their living room as the coffee table.

  • Connormize

love the transmission sink made my day

  • http://www.mccarthycars.co.uk Criena

    Love them!

  • http://www.thecarterminal.com/usedcarsforsale/used_cars.php Cheap used cars

Really very freaky home furniture to have. The real car lover man can only do this and it is not possible if you are married.

  • Ugotta_have_heart

    Really cool!

  • Sbridge21

GAY! Car parts should be in Car's. Who want's a coffee table they cant move or a lamp that weighs 40 pounds?

  • Sbridge21

Am I the only real mechanic here – don't you people think about the fact that a REAL mechanic, like myself, who works with this stuff all day doesn't want to look at it when he gets home. I'll admit it's very creative and a cool novelty, but any mechanic with spare parts could make all these himself with old parts/tools and a welder, come on! The only ones that are worth anything are the V.W. and the Mustang pool tables and that's only because they are truly modified to be something else. I guess the van tool box is something, but that looks awful. Put some drawers in from a real tool box, maybe a false bottom to store stuff below by the bumper or do up the door's in such a way that they will hold tools like a peg board.

I'm a woman, and I think this is the coolest table ever. But I'm into cars, unlike most women.

  • Katie

I disagree. I'd be the one encouraging my husband to have an engine coffee table.

this is pretty artistic if u think about it.  i would pay for furniture like that.if the creators read this give me pointers or a price.

  • Silky Johnson

I'm not sure if I'd qualify as a “real” mechanic or not, but it's how I make a living. I do see your point of “@work & @home being overkill, BUT it's not like you've got to work on it just because it's work related. I've seen several of these before, & in the even of a miracle that lets me get caught up on things to do I've got a cracked TH350 case that I would love to make a sink out of. The V8 block table wouldn't be that heavy if an LS1 or vortec aluminum block were used.

  • Jarripoter

    mierda!! qué creatividada! me intimidan!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=31800562 Charlie Hamilton

Maybe some mechanics actually love what they do and don't mind being around it 24/7?

I love this! Great stuff, very creative and also eco friendly because they are re-purposing materials for new uses!

  • Shelleyfrank

well i think this is a fantastic way to use spare and old cars better than seeing them in the in scrape yards such an eye sore

  • SmithRacing17

i like stuff like this, maybe not for the main living area but just the other day i was trying to get my husband to make a little side table out of a bad cam and flex plate for our river camp (use next to a patio chair).  we race stock cars and i like the engine parts.

  • http://milano.bbakeca.com/bakeca-donna-cerca-uomo/milano-1 Donne Milano

I love the socket coffee table and the engine block coffee table. I'm sure that coffee is better when drank at any of these tables
