Saab has been saved from closing down at the eleventh hour by a Spyker Cars, which has struck a deal to buy the ailing Swedish carmaker from GM for an initial $74m in cash.

While I’ve never personally owned a Saab (nor do I ever foresee myself owning one in the future), I respect the automaker’s dedication it’s heritage;   Saab vehicles are just as quirky now as they were fifty years ago.   For better or for worse.

Let’s hope the new Saab cars will get some cosmetic influence from the drop-dead gorgeous Spyker C8 Spyder.
